Overview.
This board serves as an expansion board for the M1 – Modbus Serial
Server Board. It holds the core and allows a second expansion board to
be connected to it. This board provides 16 optoisolated discrete inputs
and 16 discrete outputs.

16 Discrete Inputs and 16 Discrete Outputs The inputs can be
optically isolated from the rest of the circuit.

Flexible design that can accommodate different combination of expansion
boards. The core can be mounted on expansion boards. These
expansion boards can also be daisy-chained together to accommodate the
specific needs of the users. For example an specific application will
require more analogs than another one, or different types if signals.
Custom expansion boards can also be developed for pendants, control
panels, or any other specific application. This design also allows
expandability for future additions to a project.

Fully Optoisolated. All groups of I/Os are fully optoisolated
except for the outputs of the primary board. That means that the core is
powered with the power supplied to the primary board and this current
becomes common with the PC that is connected to the RS232 connector.
• Internal Safety Feature. All the
outputs are send to ground until the core is running and in control of
the board. The on-board LED lights indicating the outputs have been
enabled..
•
Can be used as primary or secondary expansion board. The board
can be used as a stand alone primary board to hold the core, or could be
used to hold an expansion secondary board. Can also be used as an
expansion secondary board. The boards can be daisy-chained together in
pairs.
