Can this be used for both soft enable and drive error at the same time? If so, are you controlling the soft enable thru the 5v getting switched by SCHP function? With three outputs from C78 into each RJ45 I dont understand how enable and error both work.

I think there may be a misunderstanding. When set to HARD enable, the drive is forced to remain enabled. If set to soft enable, then the drive receives the enable signal only when the controller is active.
