  • What is a Safety Charge Pump (SCHP)?

It is a watchdog.  It is a feature in which the control software will send a pulse stream through a pin, as if it was moving an axis.  Then a microcontroller on the breakout board will see that pulse stream and will know that the signals coming ...

  • I cannot get the green LED to enable on the breakout board

3 conditions must be met to get the enable LED:   The board must be properly powered.  Check the documentation on the board, as a misunderstanding on how it is powered is very possible. The board must be connected to a PC/Motion Controller which is c...

  • Do the HLFB pins from the Clearpath motors show up anywhere accessible on this board? Thanks!

The HLFB is not accessed directly, but it is accessed by the breakout board and used to trigger e-stop if activated.

  • what is the repeatable accuracy of this switch? Also, can it be wired in to my existing controller that uses an ethernet port for limit switches?

Most of the accuracy you can expect from this switch may be associated with the machine and the mounting of the switch.  The switch itself is very good quality, it is not comparable to the cheap ones you find on eBay.  Note that our inductive sw...

  • I have a C11G board. I want to take advantage of the safety charge pump to disable all my motor drivers untill I am ready to start. Do I need to enable the board first? i.e. the enable pin has 5 volts before the relay 3 can operate?

There are two ways of doing this. If your drivers get enabled with +5vdc, then just feed the output of pin 17 to the enable of the drivers. If you need a different signal, then use Relay3 for this.

  • I have an ESS with the C25S BOB and 4 Wantai DQ542 drivers. Can one of the outputs on Port 1 Drive the 4 enable pins on my drivers? * I notice your sample hookups do not hook up the enable pins * I don't see specs on the C25S output pins.

You can…  You can assign and wire any available output for this.  But here are some thoughts on this: On stepper drivers it is usually not all that beneficial to use the enable, as they usually have auto low power when not moving, so you just can leave...
