For AC circuits it is ideal to use a Solid State Relay:

Hello,

Can you tell me what relay board I would need to use to turn on the following:

110VAC coolant pump

Solonoids

I am using the C32S BoB. The onboard relays are being use for my spindle. Is there a board that I can plug into one the RJ45's to control the 110 power and a couple of solodoids?

Steve,
Do you have a reason to optoisolate? The E-Stop circuit requires the circuit to be powered. If you are just starting to power this up, I would suggest you concentrate on getting the board connected and working with e-stop and SCHP before wiring external stuff. In this case, make sure you set all the jumpers and DIP switches to disable fault detection No External Power Required. Once you are certain all communications are ok, the SCHP and e-stop are working, then start connecting one thing at a time, and optoisolate a circuit if you need to. Remember that the first objective here is to get a steady green LED.
Please keep me posted on how it goes.

It's been a while since picking this project back up, so here I am. I read all the documentation that the link points to and got through what I beleive as the correct jumpers etc. However I am still having issues.

My setup is as follows:

I am using an ESS with the C32S BoB. I have the ESS powered by it's own power supply and the jumpers are off.

The C32S has it's own power supply as well using the requires 5VDC@2A (I have tried with both terminal connected as well as only one)

When I power everything up I have fault lights on each are where power is or can be used. The jumpers for "External Power Supply NOT Req" are set.

When I set the jumpers to "External Power Supply Req" The fault lights go off EXCEPT the main power fault light.

I also have the E-Stop wired.

Am I supposed to be supplying power to all the power blocks; Optoisolation and Power Driver? Any ideas on why the main power fault light is on?

We have plenty of wiring diagrams in the Documents and Download section of the product page:

Hello,
I am new to the CNC world and currently trying to setup my electronics for my conversion. I have a C32 BOB ans an ESS Smooth Stepper.
I went through the C32 manual and I'm a little lost on all the settings etc. Is there a wiring diagram of a system like this that i can look at?

BTW I'm also using MA860-DSP's for my drivers.

Thank you
Steven
