Hello,

I am new to the CNC router thing and trying to figure everything out at once.

I have a 4-axis router with a rotary 4th built by PDJ on the west coast.

I bought a laptop to use exclusively with the cnc router. It is Windoze 11 based Dell model and I have a licensed version of UCCNC running on it. It connects to the router through an AXBB-E controller. The only ports on the laptop are four USB-C ports, so I have the ethernet cable from the AXBB-E connected to the laptop through an ethernet to USB-C adapter.

As I am in the process of setting up the machine, tramming, zeroing the different axis', etc., I get the following message.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Communication Error
The application lost the connection with the motion controller device. Check the connection. The application is closing now! Save offsets? Yes/No"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is not an occasional thing, it is every single time.

I have 2 adapters, tried both, same issue.

Side note - I also use the adapters to connect to my local network and it seems to work perfectly.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Lew

I think you need to get a good-quality USB to Ethernet Adapter. I always tell customers to get them from Amazon, but do not get the cheapest one.

Give it a try, and let us know how it goes.
